Mt. Cook and Mt. Tasman as seen across Lake Matheson. A drive from Weheka, followed by a trek through the woods (with flash lights) put us at Matheson Lake in time to see the early sun light the mountains. That is Tasman on the left and Cook on the right. Clear days are unusual -- we were lucky.
