  • The Franklin House is on the property of the First Presbyterian Church in Clarkesville.  It was moved here from Hollywood, Georgia, in the early 20th century.  This picture made in the spring of 2011.

  • The First Presbyterian Church of Clarkesville, Georgia, was built ca. 1840 by Jarvis Van Buren.  It sits on a hill over Washington Street but earlier it faced Jefferson Street.  The church members decided to turn it around after Washington Street (with the addition of trolly tracks) became the town's main street.  This picture made in the spring of 2011.

  • Twenty years ago I found this car in small clearing in the forest a few miles from my house.  Trees had grown up around it and there seemed to be no roadway into or out of the clearing.  I visited it again this year.  The only thing that had changed was the addition of the tree across the hood.
